He opened a visual medium that those of us as comedy writers were not used. "In each episode, JD has many comic fantasies, as well as many" sitcom lines style, which often are the result of improvisation. At the end of most episodes, JD summarizes the theme of the story in a sequence of pictures showing how it has affected each of the characters.

Nearly every episode title begins with determining the first person singular possessive, ie "My …". Bill Lawrence says this is because each episode is Dr. John Dorian writing in his journal (it is said in a commentary on the episode of the first season, "My Hero). There are exceptions noticeable in the episodes entitled "His Story", "His Story II", "Your story," "His story II", "His Story III "," His Story IV "," Your Story "and" His Story II ". Scrubs is produced ABC, through its production division, although that was broadcast on rival network NBC. According to show runner Lawrence, the arrangement is unusual, at least for the 2007: "The show is a dinosaur in a network and completely owned by another" and, as is now in syndication, making a lot 'of money to the touchstone. "Both he and Braff confirmed ABC have broadcast the seventh season had NBC refused to do so.

From Scrubs airs worldwide in many different languages, instances of foreign languages in the program must be changed to international versions. Carla's Spanish changes to Italy in the Spanish version of the series, and Elliot is changed to Danish German (or at least in fourth-season episode Swiss German accent) in the German version of the series.

The chest radiograph at the end of the sequence was hung upside down for most of the first five seasons. Bill Lawrence said that X-rays back it was intentional, as it meant that new interns were inexperienced. However, during the audio commentary Zach Braff in "my last chance," says the error was actually unintentional. The error became somewhat infamous and was even parodied in "My col.

It has tried to correct the error in the extended title sequence that was used at the beginning of season 2, but the extended sequence (including corrected X-ray) were soon broken fan-in network and application. Finally, in "My urologist, Dr. Kim Briggs comes in the credits and switches X-ray around, saying," That is backwards, that's been bothering me for years. "In the beginning of the season in August, when the series moved to ABC, the chest radiograph was again back.
